Five times in the HCSB version of the bible we can find the phrase ‘sing a new song.’ This phrase for me occupies a lot of my time throughout the year as my team and I search for songs to use in worship. We are always looking for songs that:
-express our theology
-help us understand God
-present the story of Christ
-give us opportunity to respond in appropriate ways
Throughout a year we probably introduce around 10 new songs for the congregation to sing.
Sometimes they work Sometimes they don’t Sometimes they last the year Sometimes they last one week.
We will keep looking for songs for worship…new songs expressing God’s never-changing character and message.
