On Friday of last week I uploaded a post “Following A Guest Worship Leader” in it I voiced some thoughts about how I choose someone to fill in for me when I am away from my church. I am fortunate to live in the Nashville area where there are numerous options that I can trust to lead our congregation. This time Regi Stone graciously planned and led the services in our main worship room. He even took time to get to know our worship teams by visiting both the choir and vocal team rehearsals. After his visit I wrote a post on the importance of letting your teams hear from other leaders.
Regi was sensitive to our church by researching and choosing songs that our congregation would know or that he could teach and the congregation could participate in quickly. (One of my concerns with guest worship leaders is that choose songs from their list not taking into account what the congregation knows. It is tough for a congregation to connect with a guest and even more so when they are forced to sing songs they don’t know.)
Here is the setlist Regi led:
Blessed Be Your Name by Matt Redman
Everlasting God by Brenton Brown
Our God by Chris Tomlin
God Is Here by Regi Stone
I Bless Your Name recorded by The Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir
We Love You Lord by Regi Stone
